mental health claims
The toughest battles are often fought internally—they can impact your overall health and hold you back. Our mental health claims process helps you access the right support and treatment in one place.
Our experienced team guides you through your assessment, ensuring your mental health needs are properly recognised and addressed so you can focus on what matters: reforging your strength and resilience.
Why choose us?
Tell your story once.
Our dedicated team of psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health social workers work alongside your other GO2 Health practitioners, from GPs to physios. With all your information in one place rather than scattered across different providers, we maintain a complete picture of your health.
Understanding the big picture.
We recognise the complexities of mental health conditions and their impact on your daily life and goals – like how PTSD and depression can sap your motivation. This deeper insight means we can develop more effective, personalised treatment strategies to address your specific challenges.
On target, start to finish.
From accurate diagnosis to targeted treatment, our aim is to deliver precision care when you need it. We understand that proper assessment leads to effective treatment, allowing us to create a comprehensive plan tailored specifically to you and your mental health goals.
The right team backing you up.
We integrate your physical and mental health care, recognising one affects the other. Our approach focuses on getting you back to fighting fit – maintaining the high standards you're accustomed to from service, with goals that honour both your physical and mental performance.
right diagnosis → right treatment
Our team of specialists works to ensure your mental health conditions are correctly identified to guide a clear pathway to targeted care. With years of experience navigating the DVA system, we lead you through every step of the process with precision and understanding.
Throughout your medical health claim, we can help you with:

- ADF med docs review
- Psychiatrist assessments
- Ongoing medical care and support

What to expect
At your initial GP appointment, you’ll receive an internal referral to meet with one of our psychiatrists. You may also be referred by an external GP via an advocacy group.
During your appointment, our psychiatrist will ask detailed questions about the incidents that occurred during your service, how they affected you at the time, and how they continue to impact your life.
You’ll have a follow-up appointment with a clinician from our mental health medical team. They will explain the diagnoses provided by our psychiatrist and outline the next steps in your care journey.
Your interview appointment has an allocation of 1.5 – 3 hours and will form the foundation of your mental health claim submission, along with any supplementary information you have provided.
Your assessment will be submitted to DVA. If you have a DVA advocate, they will monitor the process on your behalf. If not, you’ll communicate directly with your DVA delegate to track the status of your assessment.

next steps
If you are not currently receiving mental health treatment and wish to engage further, GO2 Health can create a tailored mental health care plan and assemble a dedicated team to support your transition from assessment to action.
