What is REFORGE anyway?

What the heck is REFORGE anyway?

REFORGE veteran care is an initiative of GO2 Health, Australia’s largest veteran medical and allied health care clinic based in Brisbane, Queensland, just down the road from the Gallipoli Barracks at Enoggera. It was created to act as an umbrella encompassing all of the veteran care and support services available at GO2 Health. REFORGE is driven by the multidisciplinary commitment to improving outcomes for contemporary ex-military service men, women and families. It recognises and supports their unique physical, mental and emotional health needs as they transition back into civilian life.

REFORGE veteran care is on a mission to break down that ‘broken veteran’ stigma and improve the health outcomes and quality of life in practical ways. Veteran care under REFORGE is designed to create a movement of REFORGING veterans’ identities, their place in the community, their relationships, work life, connections, and resilience, while reclaiming their freedom and personal power to live a full, active and empowered life.

REFORGING Care and Services

REFORGE offers inclusive programs and support services that prioritise community-minded medical management first, along with early interventions to provide opportunities that maximise potential for veterans, their families, communities and countries. Under our REFORGE programs, options for both individual and small group sessions mean that specialists can see more veterans more efficiently without jeopardising their quality of care. These comprehensive, multi-modality programs build confidence, fitness levels, freedom and recovery through expert support, holistic health, like-minded connections and perseverance.

  • High Performance Program
  • Coordinated Veteran Care

REFORGE veteran care also offers a comprehensive DVA claims assistance pathway, where claims are rigorously assessed by our GPs for medical accuracy and integrity. By having our claims assistance pathways supported by trained medical professionals, REFORGE veteran care also aims to work in support of DVA ensuring claims that are submitted are ethical and based on medical integrity. The REFORGE specialised environment then also allows for veterans to receive the on-going medical and allied health support beyond their claims.

Our REFORGE programs give veterans priority access to the services, support and education they need, as well as practical assistance with ‘navigating the system’. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is the Australian Government’s funding arm for supporting veteran health care. Our dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced clinical nurses act as an appointed case manager and focus on each veteran as an individual with their own unique goals and outcomes. This ensures that each veteran (and their family) receives the adequate support they deserve to REFOREGE their lives post service.

By prioritising medicine first and taking the time to understand each veteran’s needs, goals and outcomes, veterans and their families are better placed to access the entire support network that is available to them. This network consists of GPs, psychologists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, dieticians, naturopaths, and many more, from one accessible location.

The REFORGE purpose is clear: To guide contemporary and older veterans seamlessly through their transition journey from military service to forge ahead with a thriving and fulfilling civilian life.
